Icehouse Canyon Trail to Icehouse Saddle Los Angeles

My phone rings off the hook when people want to perform,” Toler said. Mentor Ave., hasn't changed, but walking through its new glass doors is like entering a place that’s transformed from a dusty piece of coal into a frosty diamond. An ice house, or icehouse, is a building used to store ice throughout the year, commonly used prior to the invention of the refrigerator.

Some were underground chambers, usually man-made, close to natural sources of winter ice such as freshwater lakes, but many were buildings with various types of insulation. Fashioned after the Lakers’ Chairman’s Room at the Kia Forum, the swanky private spot at the back of the Legendary Room is awash with classy crimson vibes. “It’s a little easier for me with the club because the Ice House has a legendary history. Mentor Ave., hasn’t changed, but walking through its new glass doors is like entering a place that’s transformed from a dusty piece of coal into a frosty diamond. In addition to the trail camps, backpackers may set up camp anywhere they wish in the wilderness as long as the spot is 200 feet from creeks and lakes. On the descent, if you keep an emergency poncho in the bottom of your backpack (for completely different circumstances), you can put it to use as a makeshift toboggan.

Getting to the Three T's Trail

Above the snow-covered waterfall, the trail becomes more generous again and there is only one more steep passage over the last third-mile. Hikers may turn around at the saddle or continue on in four different directions. These tracks are barely visible under the deep snow, and only one trail sign is visible. Icehouse Canyon is located in a beautiful stretch of the Angeles National Forest near Mount Baldy Village, just southeast of the mighty Mount Baldy. At 7,500 feet, this low point in the ridgeline offers sweeping views of the western San Gabriel Mountains.

"It's really exciting for Pasadena to have this world-class venue." Sitting in his designated booth at the back of the Legendary Room, Buss says he can’t wait to enjoy a show with the spirit of his favorite comedy fan right beside him. Normally, the trail crosses to the north side of the canyon and climbs a series of switchbacks to get to Icehouse Saddle. However, when that white thing that is usually foreign to Southern California covers the ground, the consensus becomes to take a direct track right up the center of the canyon.

Since being hired as general manager of the Ice House, Toler sees the world of comedy clubs and sports franchises as synonymous when it comes to bringing in sponsorships, succeeding at marketing and acquiring talent. As an original draft pick for the Sparks when the team started in 1997, Toler was the first player to score a basket in WNBA history. After Buss hired her as general manager of the team years later, she assembled the roster that led the Sparks to a championship victory in 2001.

Artists and Cities secured an option on the property in May 1999. Working with Perkins Eastman Architects and Sota Construction Services, construction began in October, 2000 and was completed by the end of May, 2001. Hi, I'm Cris Hazzard, aka Hiking Guy, a professional outdoors guide, hiking expert, and author based in Southern California. I created this website to share all the great hikes I do with everyone else out there. This site is different because it gives detailed directions that even the beginning hiker can follow.

Though the Ice House is known as a place for comedy, it was also a stage where folk acts, magicians and other performers wielded wands and banjos, honing their craft in the ‘60s and ‘70s before stand-up emerged as the entertainment of choice. With the club’s revival, Buss says live music and other events will play a role in the monthly bookings including jazz, reggae and country nights. Sparks in 2006 — a team he’d helped build into a winning franchise in the WNBA — Jerry’s health had already started declining. Departing from the parking lot along Icehouse Canyon Road, the trail takes course along the northern bank of a creek that flows down the canyon. Crystal clear water tumbles past oaks and sycamores, and this is a fine venue for a directionless romp through nature for those disinterested in following the trail.

Indulge in a delectable array of appetizers, entrees, and desserts, meticulously crafted to satisfy your taste buds. From classic comfort foods to innovative culinary delights, the menu at The Ice House Pasadena has something for everyone. Pair your favorite dishes with a selection of refreshing beverages, including handcrafted cocktails, fine wines, and specialty brews. The Ice House Pasadena is now entering a new chapter under the ownership of Johnny Buss. With Buss’ vision and Toler’s leadership, the club is poised to continue its legacy as one of the premier comedy venues in the country.

Comic Elayne Boosler can’t talk her way out of handbag at Dodger Stadium. She was handcuffed

For all the years she was involved in the WNBA, Toler says she and Buss always had a great working relationship that allowed her to grow in her career. His father’s notoriously outside-the-box methods of running a team made him a genius and impossible to predict. In June 2001, the Ice House Artist Studios at rd Street in Lawrenceville opened its doors as a new facility for 32 artists, arts-related businesses and arts organizations. The project was enthusiastically supported by the Lawrenceville community for its re-use of a long-abandoned, historic building and its attraction of artists and new businesses to the neighborhood.

From the saddle, hikers and backpackers may continue on in several directions to explore nearby peaks and venture deeper into the Cucamonga Wilderness. The single-track to Icehouse Saddle climbs 2,600 feet over 3.6 miles and is an exceptional hike. This is a backcountry hike and you should prepare accordingly.

For Margaret Cho, the club’s first big headliner to perform Thursday night, the details in a comedy club make the comic’s experience and the fan experience feel like they’re being taken seriously. Located in the heart of Pasadena, The Ice House is a local staple of laughter and entertainment. Nestled within the walls of a captivating historic building, The Ice House Pasadena exudes charm and character. This legendary comedy club has been a go-to destination for comedy enthusiasts and performers alike for decades. Though Buss and Toler believe that the entertainment business is all about the fans, it’s also the club’s duty to take care of the comics.

Due to the popularity of shows, it is recommended to book your tickets early to guarantee your spot. The walls of The Ice House are adorned with photos of comedians who have graced its stage, and the venue boasts a new menu and updated bar offerings. With its rich history and commitment to nurturing new talent, The Ice House is officially open with a full schedule of shows. PASADENA, Calif. — The Ice House, regarded as the oldest comedy club in the country, has been given a new lease on life under the new ownership of Johnny Buss. Though it's always served its purpose as a training ground, the Ice House is also going to be a place where stars can mingle while they watch famous funny people perform. Holding himself to a higher standard because of his father is nothing new to Buss, who grew up in the midst of one of the world’s greatest sports dynasties.

In 2019, The Ice House Pasadena was purchased by Johnny Buss, the oldest son of the late Lakers owner Jerry Buss. Buss is a lifelong fan of comedy, and he has said that he plans to keep the Ice House as a premier comedy venue. Fashioned after the Lakers' Chairman's Room at the Kia Forum, the swanky private spot at the back of the Legendary Room is awash with classy crimson vibes.

Since she became the club's general manager, Toler's been regaled by every comic she meets about stories of the club from back in the day. The Lakers team co-owner Johnny Buss is now the owner of the Ice House. "I just wanted it to survive in the spot where it originated," he said. "It's a beautiful venue now," said Kevin Dorse who was at a show Friday night.

Ice was often imported into the UK from Scandinavia until the 1920s, although from around 1900 the import of ice declined sharply owing to the development of factories in the UK where ice was made artificially. Usually, only large mansions had purpose-built buildings to store ice. Many examples of ice houses exist in the UK, some of which have fallen into disrepair. Though it’s always served its purpose as a training ground, the Ice House is also going to be a place where stars can mingle while they watch famous funny people perform. That’s where the club’s secret crown jewel, the newly built VIP lounge, comes into play.

Throughout the brick building in downtown Pasadena, vintage and modern flourishes demand attention like stylistic punchlines. The glowing stalactite chandeliers, electric neon art of cacti, waves and sun punctuate the walls of the California Room, the venue’s second stage. Guests pass through the red-brick walls of the revamped bar and patio area into the revived main room. Despite the club’s new mainstage set up, dubbed the Legendary Room, it still retains an intimate vibe where stand-up idols and up-and-comers have thrived on the raw energy and laughter of a working class clientele.

6 Best Cheap Website Builders 2024 Plans From $1 Month

affordable web design company

Most small businesses aren’t likely to bump up against the 2 GB bandwidth or 3 GB storage limits of the Combo plan ($19 per month or $14 per month if paid annually, at this writing). However, if you know you’ll need a lot of storage—for example, for posting high-resolution photos or videos—you might want to look at Wix’s pricing for its higher-level plans. All the other website builders we tested, except for Google Sites, don’t have bandwidth or storage limitations (and Google Sites’s limits, such as its cap of 1,000 pages per website, are generous).

What makes us different from other web design companies?

If you want more control over every aspect of the page—everything from the exact size (in pixels) of a menu to the precise location of a photo (in X and Y coordinates)—you can switch from the ADI to the main editor. It allows you to drag and drop anything on the page, while also providing sticky guidelines for lining things up. You also get pixel-level control over text sizes, unlike in competing site builders, which limit you to a few (often maddeningly small) sizes. Wix is the best option if you have previous design experience or want to fiddle with the site elements to make each page look just so. Created for businesses, Los Angeles Website Design helps you get the most out of your site with search engine optimization. Services that range from basic web pages to full e-commerce, we are the design company that every business needs at some point.

What is our custom website design company’s process?

Choose a template from over 500 industry-specific, e-commerce, blog and creative website templates. Then, use the Wix Editor to choose from hundreds of drag-and-drop design features—including scroll effects, animations and video backgrounds—to build a website that uniquely fits your needs. While the average responsive web design price is $3000 to $25,000, many companies add features to their responsive website, like ecommerce functionality, which increases the investment.

Are website builders secure?

This speed extends to the mobile realm, where Jimdo's highly-rated app (for coding version users) empowers on-the-go editing and site management. And while the free logo creator might not revolutionize your brand, it's a handy tool for new businesses taking their first steps online. Zoho’s Starter pack costs just $5 a month and includes room for a five-page website, a healthy 10GB monthly bandwidth, 500MB storage, and more.

Organic SEO and Local SEO Services

It comes with unlimited free sites, 500MB of storage per site, 5GB of bandwidth, five pages per site and the ability to sell one product. It includes two premium sites and unlimited free sites, a free domain for a year, 1GB of storage, 50GB of bandwidth, five website pages, the ability to sell five products, a 5% transaction fee and 24/7 chat support. WordPress.com offers about two dozen free website templates (or “themes”), some modern and stylish, others a bit dated. You can buy individual premium templates with more complex layouts, or you can upgrade to a Premium or Business plan to access premium templates as part of your subscription cost. As expected for a site builder owned by a credit card processing and POS (point of sale) provider, Square Online does an excellent job of helping you list items to sell. Wix has its own powerful e-commerce tool, but to add products there, you have to leave the main site editor.

Value for money aside, Square is also one of the easiest platforms to get started with. After testing the product out ourselves, we found it quick and simple to get started on, and connecting with third-party integrations was a wiz. If you want to learn even more, check out our guide to the best web builders for SEO. WordPress.org offers unique monetization perks to influencers and authors. First, because WordPress.org requires you to self-host your website, your content cannot be used by WordPress as it sees fit.

Website templates for every purpose

With an array of services under a single banner, Webinopoly helps clients apply business plans and develop ventures in a simple, cost-effective way. Netpaths Website Design provides a selection of digital marketing solutions to entrepreneurs in Los Angeles. It designs e-commerce web templates to help business owners present their products and services. The company eliminates excessive texts, improves brand recognition, and adds new content. Its specialists also conduct server configuration, software programming, and security and firewall installation. In addition, they offer PPC management, email marketing, and local SEO services.

Learn how to get started with Squarespace

Pixpa’s Basic plan does offer a lot of the standard features you’d expect from a website builder, such as SEO, which is good considering the low price point. For advanced features like abandoned cart recovery, you’ll have to sign up for the Advanced plan, which costs $25 per month (billed annually). Sunlight Media LLC is a digital solutions company dedicated to illuminating brands' online presence through comprehensive marketing strategies. Its services cover web design, working with various platforms such as WordPress, Joomla! The agency also develops mobile apps and manages SEO campaigns and PPC ads to help businesses shine in the digital landscape. Sunlight Media has partnered with prominent entities in Los Angeles, including the University of Southern California, Atlantic Records, and the Japan Foundation.

If you have an existing site, our development team will also set up the appropriate redirects to preserve your SEO. From a cheapness standpoint, Squarespace suffers an even worse fate than Wix, with a starting plan at the same $16 per month rate and no free plan to speak of, beyond that 14-day free trial. Still, if you’re planning to scale at all and style is important to you, Squarespace’s templates and intuitive interface are more than worth the investment.

Overall, Hostinger is a good cheap website builder if you’re a business only focused on price, and not functionality, but if you care about the design, ease of use and customizability, you might want to look elsewhere. However, like Square’s other plans, Plus and Premium, its free tier does charge transaction fees on all sales. This means that while start-up costs are rock bottom, costs may add up over time, making Square less suited to businesses selling products with smaller margins.

SEO practices such as backlink building, competitor analysis, keyword research, and URL optimization are utilized during the process. ILocal works with businesses of different sizes, including enterprises and startups. It serves various industries such as landscaping, automotive, legal, and real estate.

The Cruise streaming: where to watch movie online?

the cruise movie

Joachim diverts the river to flood the cave and Aguirre and his conquistadors are reanimated while fused with rainforest elements. The conquistadors attack the tribe and Aguirre stabs Frank through the heart. Lily flees with the artifact, chased by conquistadors, but the jungle vines pull them back to the river, preventing her capture. We rank every one of the British director's movies by Metascore, from his debut Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels to his brand new film, The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare. Koyel Sardar, a 21-year-old media science graduate, is a passionate writer and entertainment journalist.

I’ve previously written for publications like HuffPost and i-D after getting my NCTJ Diploma in Multimedia Journalism. The Movie Critic will no longer be Quentin Tarantino's tenth and final movie, according to The Hollywood Reporter, with the director returning to the drawing board for his last feature film. The narrative intent of "Cocktail" only feels more questionable with time, along with its mixed messaging that both condones and chastises moral bankruptcy, peppered with a dozen misogynistic jokes and attitudes clogging up an already barebones holiday adventure. An inevitable falling out occurs between the men, and Brian decides to go to Jamaica to make his dreams come true, where he meets Jordan (Elizabeth Shue), whom he treats rather horribly, but his actions are painted as flawed as opposed to being deliberate transgressions. This is where "Cocktail" feels the most grating, as Brian is intended as a protagonist worth rooting for, but only comes off as an obtuse jerk, incapable of treating women like human beings or introspecting about his innermost desires. Keanu Reeves was wise to decline the lead role in this lame sequel to Speed.

Much of the action in the final third of the movie takes place on Fhloston Paradise, a space cruise ship patronised by the rich and powerful. This superliner features twelve swimming pools with two VIP pools, dozens of high-end restaurants and a concert hall. Not all of these cruise ship movies are masterpieces (although some are). Take a cinematic voyage with my pick of movies set on a cruise ship. In Frank's cabin, Lily finds his research on the Tears of the Moon, but Frank insists he stopped searching long ago.

In 1916 London, Dr. Lily Houghton has her brother, McGregor, present her Tears of the Moon research to the Royal Society, which bars women members. Lily then steals it, narrowly evading Prince Joachim, who is equally intent on finding the Tree for himself and Germany.

Following a year of post-production and a year of further delay due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Jungle Cruise was finally released in the United States on July 30, 2021, simultaneously in theaters and digitally via Disney+ Premier Access. The film received mixed reviews and grossed $221 million worldwide against a production budget of $200 million. It also made $66 million over its first 30 days on Premier Access.[6][7] A sequel is in development, with Johnson and Blunt set to reprise their roles. The filmmaker was also set to helm a Star Trek movie with The Revenant screenwriter Mark L. Smith, announced back in 2017, which reportedly featured time travel and "gangster scenes," but that project never got off the ground either. The now-scrapped project, which would have been set in 1977 and followed a cynical movie critic, was set to star Brad Pitt – and he was reportedly set to return as his Once Upon a Time in Hollywood character, stuntman Cliff Booth.

Cruise is an American romantic comedy film, written and directed by Robert D. Siegel. It stars Spencer Boldman, Emily Ratajkowski, Lucas Salvagno, Noah Robbins, Gino Cafarelli, Kathrine Narducci and Sebastian Maniscalco. Filmed in 2015, it was eventually released direct-to-video in September 2018, by Vertical Entertainment. It didn't work (maybe because of homelessness, a Goodwill wardrobe and a flat-footed duckwalk?).

This exhilarating musical features some of the greatest songs ever composed, including They Can’t Take That Away From Me and Let’s Call The Whole Thing Off. This multi-nominated movie – it went on to win two Oscars – centres on the ageing SS Poseidon on her final voyage from New York to Athens. After it is upended by a tsunami on New Year’s Day, it’s a race against time to bring the survivors to safety. Agatha Christie’s 1937 murder mystery has been adapted for the silver screen three times but the original film version is the best of the bunch (don’t go near Kenneth Branagh’s woeful 2022 remake). Lily and Frank travel to the La Luna Rota[c] Waterfall and discover a submerged temple containing the Tree. Meanwhile, Joachim has captured MacGregor and forces him to reveal Lily's location.

Jungle Cruise is a 2021 American fantasy adventure film directed by Jaume Collet-Serra from a screenplay written by Glenn Ficarra, John Requa, and Michael Green. Produced by Walt Disney Pictures, the film stars Dwayne Johnson, Emily Blunt, Édgar Ramírez, Jack Whitehall, Jesse Plemons, and Paul Giamatti. It tells the alternate history of the captain of a small riverboat who takes a scientist and her brother through a jungle in search of the Tree of Life while competing against a German expedition, and cursed conquistadors. Now, Voyager is not only one of the best movies set on a cruise ship but it is also one of my favourite films of all time. Let’s start with the best movies about cruise ships, from films from Hollywood’s Golden Age to a science fiction classic.

The Cruise Season 1 is a British reality TV series offering an insider’s view into Princess Cruises’ operations. The show introduces viewers to the dynamic lives of crew members and passengers, exploring the intricacies of luxury cruising with a focus on the Regal Princess, Royal Princess, and Star Princess ships. Fans can expect an engaging blend of behind-the-scenes operations, personal narratives, and the unique experiences of those on board.

More than a dozen biographies have been written about him, including a recent one in Germany about Ernst, Hans and Hans' two sons, Christoph and Klaus. Christoph is the conductor emeritus of the Cleveland Symphony Orchestra; Klaus was the mayor of Hamburg, Germany. After serving in the army, Brian Flanagan (Cruise) arrives in New York City with ambitious dreams, eager to make quick money after bagging a cushy job.

It is an unrealistic fantasy that fails to entertain even with the suspension of disbelief, and Cruise's natural charisma feels squandered on something so empty. Seabourn Legend was rented for six weeks to film the movies and its multiple filming locations were used including those in the USA, the Caribbean and France. While much of The Parent Trap takes place on land, there are some scenes set aboard Cunard’s now-retired Queen Elizabeth 2 (they were actually filmed on Queen Mary, which is docked in Long Beach, California). Hunting for lonely women with hefty bank balances, Charlie (Matthau) coaxes his widower brother-in-law Herb (Lemmon) into working with him as a dance host on an all-expenses-paid luxury cruise. Under the watchful eye of the cruise director (played by Brent Spiner from Star Trek), Charlie pursues wealthy socialite Liz (Dyan Cannon) and Herb unexpectedly falls for Vivian (Gloria DeHaven). For my money, Luc Besson’s The Fifth Element is up there with the best science fiction movies of all time.

"He could look at the sheet music for five minutes, then conduct an entire symphony," McGlynn said. "One of his concert tricks was to ask someone to call out a Beethoven sonata, and he'd play it from memory." "He was a great composer, and he's being re-discovered," McGlynn said.

The audition process is nothing to scoff at; one blogger describes having music emailed to him thirty minutes before a two-hour Skype audition, during which he was asked to play and improvise in a variety of styles. This type of cruise ship musician can be found all around the ship in bars, lounges, poolside, on the back deck, or even performing in the theater or main atrium. Sing-a-long styles and guest requests make each performance unique, and an outgoing personality will help to ensure guests follow their favorite performer all cruise long.

If a Cruise Ship Musician is interested in growing his or her career with the cruise line he or she can apply for a position as the ship’s Musical Director after gaining a certain amount of experience. However, this is not a performing role, but rather a management one. Solo Entertainers perform nightly, either in a dedicated room or a variety of venues on board. You should have a repertoire of at least 200 songs, covering genres from the 50’s to today.

Looping pedals, harmonizers, and other pedal-effects are encouraged as they can add an additional dimension to performances, however, backing tracks, in general, are not preferred. High-quality backing tracks and a talent for fun-in-the-sun Vocals & Steel Pan playing define the ideal candidate for the cruise ship musician position of Solo Steel Pan. Performing in several of the outdoor venues and moslty on Caribbean itineraries this entertainer should have a large variety of songs including Reggae, Pop, Oldies, Motown, and some dance and latin styles.

Carnival Firenze 3 Day Baja Mexico Cruise from Long Beach, California

3 day cruise from long beach to ensenada

Don't expect excellent snorkeling activities like those in most of the Caribbean ports. If you didn't book any excursions through Carnival and plan to explore Ensenada on your own, there are buses every 10 minutes that will take you close to downtown. At the bus stop, there are excursions you can book for a much cheaper price than booking it through Carnival. For any cruises listed, Cruise Critic does not guarantee any specific rates or prices.

Our Mexico 3 Day Carnival Cruise Itinerary on Carnival

During our day in port, we chose to explore the town on our own. We’ve visited Ensenada and the wine country many times, so we enjoyed visiting a local museum, lunch at Muelle 3 and strolling through town. There is no shortage of meaningful things to do on a getaway cruise to Ensenada, Mexico. Make sure to include the cruise line, itinerary and cruise length. If you have any questions or would like to connect, feel free to drop me a message at the contact page here or on social media at the links below. There are a few bars available, The lime and Coconut bar on the adult swimming deck closed early but the Bamboo Room tiki bar was open late as were the other bars.

Get to Know Carnival Radiance

This is not just a Royal Caribbean issue; buffet navigation is a systemic issue anywhere. The buffet is a casual dining experience but guests do need to wear closed-toed shoes and of course shirts and shorts. The buffet offers a variety of dishes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Nicknamed the Pearl of the Pacific, with the Pacific Ocean to the west and a mountain range to the east, Ensenada is Baja California's third-largest city and one of its commercial and cultural hubs. The weather here is pleasant year round, evoking comparisons to Mediterranean climates. But the hot days and cool nights aren't the only reasons Ensenada and surrounding towns are compared to the Mediterranean; similar crops are grown here, including asparagus, olives and grapes.

Indispensable Items to Pack for a Carnival Cruise Vacation

Active travelers will love the region too, their greatest challenge being how to choose among the many adventures—zip lining and horseback riding are two highlights—that await in Ensenada and its outskirts. This is a fun itinerary for a weekend getaway, but after experiencing a 3-day cruise, we all agreed that we’d love to try a longer cruise. Between the teen club for my son and all the fun things to do onboard, there just wasn’t enough time to experience it all plus enjoy some downtime. You have a couple choices with your luggage on the last night of the journey. You can place it outside your cabin door and they will pick it up and bring it ashore for you or you can deal with it yourself. This is good and bad because getting off the ship can be a crowded and shuffling affair and having to drag your bags along with you can be a hassle.

Things To Do in Ensenada, Mexico

You'll find great food all over the place, from the casual fare of Horatio's to the artful eats of the Bacchus and Ariadne dining rooms... Not to mention the world-class cuts at Nick & Nora's Steakhouse. Today, a tour of Riviera del Pacífico will give you a glimpse into this famed piece of Ensenada's history. The shore excursion will take you through the grand ballroom where the rich and famous danced the night away. You'll also have a chance to look through the Museo de Historia de Ensenada (Ensenada Museum of History), stroll through the gardens, catch displays in the gallery, and visit its elegant salon.

Ultimate Guide to 3-Day Carnival Imagination Cruise to Ensenada

Just like an all-inclusive resort, there is always something goin on on a cruise ship. When you look at the itinerary and see “day at sea” you might think that it will just be a lot of sitting around bored waiting to get to port, but that could not be farther from the truth. They offer games on the pool deck, movies, ship tours (which are an additional cost), and a host of other things to do while you relax in the sun on deck. Each night, the nightly entertainment begins shortly after dinner service. I recommend getting an early dinner reservation time when you book your tickets to make sure you don’t miss the entertainment.

You're even going to find an Italian market, Il Mercato, featuring faves like sauced-up meatballs, sandwiches with inspiration from Italy and beyond, plus sausages and salads. And since we're always authentic… most of the time, you can enjoy the fusion-y goodness of Mexican-Italian Tomodoro™ plus Guy's Burger Joint, which now features classics and burgers with Italian twists. The ship will depart Ensenada around dinnertime, and it is always fun to watch the captain navigate the area out to open sea while you enjoy a leisurely dinner.

I appreciated the choice of premium food amenities and fun themed bars onboard. She tolerates getting splashed by kids having a good time, but it can get exhausting having to dry the dog off after a trip to the pool and of course there is the wet dog smell in the room after that. I was able to park her by a lounge chair close to the pool stairs and easily navigate my way into the pool. Also offered is a Tequila tasting tour where they take you to a distillery which offers tours and tastings. We have done both of these tours and really enjoyed them both. If you haven’t been to Mexico before, the sales tactics can be a bit aggressive, so I suggest reading the reviews below which have some strategies to help you navigate that situation as a sight impaired person.

If you choose to have them take your bags off the boat for you, then you will be required to retrieve them before heading through customs. They are usually well organized by floor number, but if you can’t see then there is little signage leading you to the area your bags are located. This is aperfect opportunity to ask for help but be patient because the crew are busy getting the ship unloaded and redied for the next group of passengers. Even though it is a hassle, I usually opt to keep my bags and shuttle them down myself when we are back in port. Wait times for elevators can be long and if you pack heavy dragging those bags down the stairs can be tough so decide appropriately.

If you are a gambler, the Casino will open as soon as the ship gets far enough offshore. Usually after dinner service is a good bet for starting to get your gamble on. Shops near Ensenada's port will sell traditional souvenirs like postcards and key chains. Hi, I’m Alexa —  a professional blogger and travel photographer.

I was disappointed that some of the better drinks were a premium upcharge so stuck to the ones that were included. This was the only bar we went to that had the upcharged drinks. The other bars gave you a menu and everything was included in the drinks package even spirit heavy drinks like old Fashioned and Sazarak. Each bar did offer food selections that were an upcharge, including some really great Poke’ nachos at the sports bar. After security, you will be directed to the Lido deck for a lunch buffet.

Each day on the cruise you will receive a “Fun Times” itinerary that includes everything there is to do onboard. It shares sections for “top entertainment’, “food”, “drinks”, “spa”, “music”, “movies”, “casino”, “shopping”, “kids & teens” as well as a schedule for everything happening with the times and locations. It is a super fun way to spend a weekend and what my husband and I found out, is we truly had a vacation. Because of the teen club, which my son loved, we found we had lots of time to relax and enjoy the cruise to Mexico as adults. While we're excited about the Italian side of this ship, it's not the whole story. Carnival has some true fan-favorites we know folks will be asking for.

Boarding the tenders was straightforward, there were a few steps to get down to the boat from the ship but they had rails to hang onto. The dock on the island was a different story, after exiting the tender, there are no rails until you get to the part of the dock that has a ramp up. I would suggest a sighted guide or asking a crew member for assistance. Once you exit the dock, all the shops, restaurants and other attractions are close by and just to the right as you exit the ramp. There are quite a few souvenir shops but be aware that many of these are older shops and very packed with goodies and trinkets to buy.

The Best Websites to Book a Cruise in 2024

best cruise sites

Thanks to this comprehensive price history, Cruisewatch can predict cruise prices and drops with an accuracy rate of around 80 percent. Using the site’s cruise price prediction alerts, travelers can save up to 71 percent just by booking at the right time. A subsidiary of Tripadvisor, Cruise Critic has similar search results to that site, but it offers a bit more comprehensive information for seasoned cruisers who want more details before they book. Cruise Critic has tons of filters and sort options to help you find what you want, including everything from cruise line to cruise style (family cruises, luxury cruises, cruises for the disabled). Each itinerary clearly lists what is and isn’t included in the fare; Wi-Fi, alcoholic drinks, gratuities, and port taxes and fees are among the common exclusions. Avoya’s team of staffers and wide network of independent agencies make for a cruise booking website that’s a bit different from the rest.

In addition to the large cruise aggregators, there are a number of smaller websites focused solely on cruises. Cruising is big business, and that’s why you have dozens of websites at your disposal, all competing for your travel dollars. It can be a complicated, time-consuming process that involves dozens of open tabs and maybe a spreadsheet or two. The region’s love of the outdoors lifestyle means active experiences are easy to find, both through cruise line excursions and independent operators. Cruising in Northern Europe offers a fantastic variety of excursions and experiences, from historical city tours to adrenaline-filled outdoor adventures. Best Train Comparison Websites

The website emphasizes destination-focused travel and unique shore excursions, appealing to travelers with a passion for exploration. Azamara’s smaller ships and longer port stays further enhance the immersive travel experience. But you might not even need to pay out-of-pocket for trip insurance because many credit cards offer travel insurance as a built-in benefit to customers who pay for travel expenses on that card. The best place to book a cruise will vary depending on what you're looking for out of the experience. We've broken out cruise booking sites based on common booking goals. It’s free and you’re signed up automatically if you have booked with Cruises.com at least once before.

The Best Cruise Lines

The other disadvantage is that you need to be a member of Costco to book. However, if there is a reason where you need to change your booking or get a refund, then it could be a little more complicated than booking directly through the cruise line. That means you don’t have to run yourself ragged trying to find the best deal. Search SmarterTravel Hotels for great accommodations in your port of call. You can sign up for price alerts, which will notify you by email when the fare on your selected itinerary drops. #1 Tripadvisor: Cruise Comparison and Reviews

It’s possible that if you book one day, the next day the price may go down. The good news is that the price is unlikely to move much (unlike airfare). By waiting until the last minute you aren’t likely to find great deals, but it will mean that you have fewer cabin choices. With a focus on cruising, they are able to better serve cruise passengers — including having staff that you can call directly to help you book.

Avoya Travel

The tours are usually led by locals, which means the guides can also give you some good recommendations if you have time before you need to return to the ship. If you're looking for a unique excursion that still gives you the highlights of a European city, I recommend booking a food tour. I've done tours in places like Amsterdam, Budapest, and Paris, and I've never been disappointed. Some of the major European tourist destinations have strict dress codes — typically everyone must at least cover their shoulders and knees out of respect. Going early or late in the season usually means you'll have more tolerable weather and smaller crowds in some of the big destinations like Athens. Furthermore, Cruise Critic makes no guarantees for availability of prices advertised on our site.

Arriving at your embarkation port early is key to having a smooth sailing.

Tripadvisor is one of the worlds biggest travel sites and is perfect if you are looking to book at cruise. You can view details of all ships, reviews of previous cruises, photos and itineraries. The site allows you to search 70,000+ cruise deals from over sixty sites with just one search. Next up, Avoya Travel is a unique option, as it combines online search features and travel agent know-how to give you what it calls a superior cruise-booking experience. You enter some info about what kind of cruise you want, and then a planner uses your information to show you the best cruises for you. Better yet, a website membership gets you access to unpublished deals, as well as free cruise booking changes and cancellations.

When prices are the same, we recommend cruise bookers compare the perks being offered, then book on the site with the most appealing bonuses, like onboard credits, airline miles, hotel points or cash back. One of the nice things about Orbitz is that it offers a rewards program, but, unfortunately, cruises are not eligible for Orbitz Rewards. Cruise Critic is a cruise-focused website that features reviews, tips, and advice for a huge community of cruisers. The Cruise Critic forums provide a place to ask questions, give advice, and get help booking your next cruise. In that case, you’ll want to contact the website that you booked through — not the cruise line (unless you booked through the cruise line’s website). For example, if you book through CostcoTravel.com, then contact them first for any price drops you see. We think so as they can help you look at every cruise available to find one that fits.

Katie has been in the points and miles game since 2015 and started her own blog in 2016. She’s been freelance writing since then and her work has been featured in publications like Travel + Leisure, Forbes Advisor, and Fortune Recommends. However, if you have a bundle of United miles and prefer cruising to flying, it might be a good redemption for you.

There’s also a dedicated 800 number that lets you speak to Expedia’s cruise experts and, often but not always, a generous amount of onboard credit thrown in for good measure. The website also offers exclusive discounts, ensuring you get the best value for your money. Whether you're a first-time cruiser or an experienced traveler, iCruise is a go-to destination for planning your dream cruise. With its vast resources and seamless navigation, iCruise makes the cruise booking process a breeze.

Benefits include things like shore excursion credits and onboard spending credits. If the site offers a good incentive for booking through them, then know that you’ve found a good deal. If the incentive isn’t that strong or you don’t want to go through a third-party to your reservation, then booking directly through the cruise line is your best bet. For instance, one recent search promoted free gratuities on trips booked through the site, but we couldn’t find any mention of this once we actually started the booking process.

CheapCaribbean.com may sound exclusively for Caribbean travel, but it offers cruises worldwide. This booking platform stands out by providing unique search categories, such as cruise themes, not commonly found on other platforms. Moreover, CheapCaribbean offers enticing incentives like discounts, credits, and a loyalty club to enhance your booking experience. Cruise Critic is a treasure trove for cruise enthusiasts, offering information about cruise lines, ships, and routes. From detailed reviews to valuable cruising tips, it’s a one-stop destination for cruising. However, while Cruise Critic allows you to browse and explore cruise options, it doesn’t directly sell them.

Above all, remember the age-old rule that if something sounds too good to be true, it likely is. Be wary of any websites advertising cruise deals that are significantly less than the same cruise priced elsewhere. For example, we found a cruise offering a $45 Costco Cash Card for booking the cheapest stateroom for just $409. In other words, that deal is like getting 11% off the price of your cruise. In addition, while aggregator websites will almost always have the same prices you’ll find everywhere else, they often offer perks you won’t find on the cruise lines websites. Each of these cruise line websites will allow you to be as narrow or as broad with your search as you wish.

While you might think of Tripadvisor as just a place to get reviews and photos of hotels, restaurants, and activities, it’s actually much more than that. In addition to reviews and traveler forums, Tripadvisor acts as a metasearch engine, comparing prices on lots of other websites. Many of the credit card offers that appear on this site are from credit card companies from which we receive financial compensation. This compensation may impact how and where products appear on this site (including, for example, the order in which they appear). However, the credit card information that we publish has been written and evaluated by experts who know these products inside out. This site does not include all credit card companies or all available credit card offers that are on the market.
